FRANCE-CORSICA-SEPARATISTS
Two hooded militants in military fatigues claiming to belong to the separatist Corsican National Liberation Front (FLNC) hold a press conference in Corte, Corsica on August 9, 2009 during the yearly gathering of the Corsican Separatists "Ghjurnate internaziunale di Corti" under the banner of Corsica Libera which makes up the four fractious pro-independence parties. Corsica has been plagued by more than 30 years of low-level violence waged by separatists opposed to French rule, and to what they see as an invasion by holiday-home owners from the mainland.
