GABON-VOTE
A woman holds up a poster of Ali Bongo Ondimba, the son of the late president Omar Bongo Ondimba and current leading candidate for Gabon's next presidential elections during an electoral meeting on August 27, 2009 in Libreville. The late president's son, Ali Bongo, is considered favourite to win the vote, even though 12 candidates have called for the election to be postponed because of what they call "flagrant irregularities" in its organisation. Many Gabonese are anxiously looking to the first election since Bongo's death in June at the age of 73 to see some of the wealth shared beyond the Bongo family and its network of allies and associates.
