GREECE-VOTE-PAPANDREOU
Newly sworn-in Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou (R), whose PASOK party won 44 percent of the vote in the October 4, 2009 election to sweep the ruling conservatives out of power, bids farewell to his predecessor Costas Karamanlis outside the Prime Minister's office in Athens on October 6. Papandreou, who was sworn into office on October 6, will name a cabinet aimed at backing up his promise to rescue the country's economy.
