Amazon.com founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos unveils an international Kindle electronic book reader on October 6, 2009 in San Francisco, designed to make digital works easy to download wirelessly in countries around the world. Kindle models designed to synch with telecom networks in countries around the world are priced at 279 dollars (US) and basic Kindles tailored only for use in the United States had prices trimmed 40 dollars to 259 dollars. "For the first time ever, Kindle is available for sale outside the US," Amazon founder Jeff Bezos told AFP while providing a glimpse at the international model in Cupertino, California.
