Indian flood victims carry relief supplies as they walk through floodwaters in the partially submerged village of Gaju Lanka in Guntur District, some 400 kms south-east of Hyderabad on October 7, 2009. The death toll from the worst floods to hit southern India in decades passed 300, officials said, as relief efforts struggled to help survivors. At least 1.5 million people have been displaced in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh after days of torrential rain.
