GERMANY-LITERATURE-BOOK-FAIR-PREPARATIONS
A publishing house employee arranges books in shelves on October 13, 2009 at the 61st edtition of the Frankfurt Book Fair, where China is this year's guest of honour. The fair will be inaugurated later in the day by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Chinese Vice-President Xi Jinping. Some 6,900 exhibitors from around 100 countries are to gather in Frankfurt until October 18, around 400 fewer than last year, and each publisher has trimmed the size of its participation.
