UNESCO-ONU-BULGARIA
New UNESCO chief Irina Bokova of Bulgaria (C) and the Former UNESCO's Director General, Japanese Koichiro Matsuura (R) and President of the UNESCO's General Conference Dr Davidson Hepburn, pose on October 15, 2009 at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, during the General Conference of the organization, involving all Member States. Ms. Bokova, 57, Bulgarian ambassador to France as well as with UNESCO, became the first woman to head the UN agency responsible for implementing programs for education, to ensure the safeguarding of world heritage or act in favor of freedom of expression.
