In this portrait taken on August 18, 2009, Shahana Begum stands with her baby outside her home in a slum on the dry banks of the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka's biggest river. She joined the swelling ranks of Bangladeshi "climate refugees" who, experts say, could one day overwhelm the city. Shahana's family, like more than half a million in the impoverished nation, lost her shanty home and all her belongings when cyclone Sidr slammed into southern Bangladesh on November 15, 2007 and killed more than 3,500 people.
