JAPAN-FESTIVAL
A raftsman, a member of the Kiba kakunori preservation society, performs a stunt on a floating square timber with his son at a local festival in Tokyo on October 18, 2009. The stunt derived from their daily work in the Edo period (1603-1868) which in those days they made rafts with fire-hooks in their hands as the balanced on floating logs. AFP PHOTO/Kazuhiro NOGI
