(FILES)A sign for Wall Street is seen before the opening bell October 15 2009. Wall Street struggled higher at the open October 21, 2009 as the market mulled earnings from the banking sector that were better than expected along with a disappointing quarterly report from Boeing. In the first exchanges, the Dow Jones Industrial Average drifted up 12.09 points (0.12 percent) to 10,053.57, coming off losses on Tuesday. The Nasdaq composite added 5.97 points (0.28 percent) to 2,169.44 and the broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 2.15 points (0.20 percent) to 1,093.21. AFP PHOTO / TIMOTHY A. CLARY / FILES
