Captain Chesley B (Sully) Sullenberger III (L) is awarded the Masters Medal and a certificate by Rick Peacock-Edwards Immediate Pass Master (R) on October 29, 2009 in London. The presentation was made at the Guild of air pilots and air navigators Awards Banquet at the Guildhall in London. Captain Sullenberger ensured the safety of 150 passengers after executing an emergency ditching and evacuation of an Airbus 320 aircraft on the Hudson River, New York on January 15, 2009 following a bird strike and double engine failure.
