Prominent Russian-Israeli businessman Shabtai von Kalmanovic, owner of a top Moscow women's basketball team, was shot dead on November 2, 2009 in the Russian capital, prosecutors said. Kalmanovic, who owns the internationally successful Spartak club, was shot 20 times by unknown assailants and died on the spot, the head of the investigative committee of Moscow prosecutors Anatoly Bagmet told RIA Novosti.
