(FILES)A sign for Wall Street is seen before the opening bell October 15 2009. US shares extended their rally early Monday after a strong reading on US retail sales helped reinforce sentiment that an economic recovery is on track. In the first trades, the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 75.65 points (0.74 percent) to 10,346.12, on the heels of a strong week that saw gains of more than two percent for Wall Street indexes. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite advanced 14.70 points (0.68 percent) to 2,182.58 and the Standard & Poor's 500 broad-market index added 9.50 points (0.87 percent) to 1,102.98. AFP PHOTO / TIMOTHY A.
