JAPAN-INDONESIA-SCIENCE-FISH-COELACANTH
This handout photo taken by Japanese researchers of Aquamarine Fukushima aquarium on October 6, 2009, and released on November 17, 2009 shows a juvenile coelacanth which was discovered at a depth of 161 metres, in Manado Bay off Indonesia's Sulawesi Island. The researchers used a remotely operated, self-propelled vehicle to film the coelacanth, which appeared to be freshly born. The coelacanth is commonly regarded as having evolved little from prehistoric times and was thought to be extinct until a living specimen was discovered in 1938 off the coast of southern Africa.
