ENTERTAINMENT-ART-AUCTION-BAUDELAIRE
A picture taken on November 30, 2009 in Paris, shows an original copy of Charles Baudelaire's correspondence. Personal letters, first edition copies and even a suicide note penned by 19th century French poet Charles Baudelaire go on sale in Paris. Among pieces up for auction is an original copy of one of his most celebrated works, "Les Fleurs du mal" (The flowers of evil), an 1857 volume of poems that outraged authorities at the time as being blasphemous and indecent. The copy up for sale on December 1, at the Drouot auction house was among 1,500 first printed and is annotated by the poet himself. It is estimated to be worth between 120,000 to 150,000 euros (179,500 to 224,000 dollars). AFP PHOTO FRANCOIS GUILLOT
