The Right Livelihood Award laureates (L-R) Rene Ngongo of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Alyn Ware of New Zealand and David Suzuki (Honorary Award) from Canada pose after receiving their awards at a ceremony in the Swedish Parliament in Stockholm on December 4, 2009. The forth laureate Catherine Hamlin from Ethiopia was not present. The Right Livelihood Award was established 1980 and has become widely known as the 'Alternative Nobel Prize'.
