SPAIN-MOROCCO-WSAHARA-RIGHTS-DIPLOMACY-HAIDAR
Two men sit in front of lightened candles to support Western Sahara activist Aminatou Haidar outside Arrecife's airport on the Spanish Canary Island of Lanzarote, on December 7, 2009. Western Sahara activist Aminatou Haidar is now in grave danger as she completes the third week of her hunger strike at an airport in Spain's Canary Islands, one of her aides said. The 42-year-old went on hunger strike on November 16, three days after Moroccan authorities denied her entry into Western Sahara, a disputed territory annexed by Morocco in 1975, allegedly confiscated her passport, and sent her back to Lanzarote in Spain's Canary Islands archipelago.
