Palestinian Rap singer and actor Suheil Nafar sports a cap with the chequered keffiyeh design and a machinegun motif, representing the Palestinian struggle against Israeli occupation, during the opening ceremony of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) in the Gulf emirate on December 9, 2009. Despite an alarming debt crisis, Dubai is rolling out the red carpet with its usual splendour for movie stars with its sixth annual film festival kicking off in the presence of international stars such as Mandy Moore, Matt Dillon, Christopher Lambert, Christina Ricci and Omar Sharif who lead the parade of Hollywood actors at the opening night held at the pompous Madinat Arena, part of the luxurious Madinat Jumeirah resort.
