SPAIN-CATALONIA-REFERENDUM
Immigrant residents of the city of Vic vote during a non-binding ballot for the independence of Catalonia in the Catalan town of Sant Cugat, on December 11, 2009. Some 170 towns and villages in Catalonia will vote next December 13,2009, in a symbolic referendum which separatists hope will be a step toward the region's eventual secession from Spain. Referendums are being organized by several civil organizations, without the help of Public Administration since doing so would violate the law, but up to 170 municipalities approved declarations supporting independence.
