Iranian pro-government protesters hold up portraits of the late revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (R) and supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (L) during a rally held in Tehran after the Friday noon prayers on December 18, 2009 to condemn alleged insults to the Islamic republic's late founder, Ayatollah Khomeini, and to back the country's current leadership. Several nationwide rallies were organised by the authorities following a string of protests after state television showed pictures of a torn poster of Ayatollah Khomeini on December 7.
