NZEALAND-ANIMALS-WHALE RESCUE
A handout photo released on December 28, 2009 by Project Jonah shows volunteers trying to refloat stranded pilot whales at Colville Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula on December 28, 2009. Twenty-one pilot whales died and 42 were successfully refloated after stranding at the bay while another 105 whales died after beaching themselves on Farewell Spit, at the top of the South Island on December 26.
