GERMANY-COMMUNISTS-COMMEMORATION-LUXEMBURG-FILES
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY Audrey KAUFFMANN
FILES - Picture taken on January 14 , 2007 shows red flowers laying on a memorial plaque for Rosa Luxemburg at Berlin's Socialist Memorial to commemorate the German communists Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg, who were killed by soldiers during a socialist uprising in January 1919. In 1918, the pair transformed the left-wing Marxist organisation Spartacus League into the German Communist Party and then tried to proclaim a German Soviet Republic. A body has been found in 2008 in the cellar of the morgue of the Charite hospital in Berlin, sparking a debate whether it is the body of Rosa Luxemburg or not. AFP PHOTO DDP/CLEMENS BILAN GERMANY OUT
