GERMANY-WEATHER-SNOW-TRANSPORT
An icebreaker ships past the container ship terminal on January 12, 2010 on the Elbe river in the harbour of the northern town of Hamburg, where six icebreakers try to keep the harbour free from ice. Depression "Daisy" brought havoc in Germany with northern Germany worst hit, with motorways, other roads and railways made impassable in places by blizzards, confining hundreds of people overnight and on January 10 morning to their cars, lorries or to trains stuck in snow.
