FILES-HAITI-QUAKE
(FILES): This May 12, 2006 file photo shows Jean Paul Billy, a Haitian man who makes a living by selling bread in the streets, carrying two empty baskets as he walks past the presidential palace in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, two days before President-elect Rene Preval assumed power. Haiti's presidential palace and numerous other government buildings in the country's capital Port-au-Prince collapsed on January 12, 2010 after a massive 7.0 earthquake, Haitian television streaming online reported. Communications to the island, the most impoverished in the western hemisphere, were cut in the wake of the massive earthquake, which produced several aftershocks and prompted a tsunami warning.
