(FILES) In a file picture taken on November 4, 2006, the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Iskandar, a former Malaysian king, gestures as he addresses a crowd during the launching of the South Johor Economic Region in Johor state. The sultan of Malaysia's Johor state Iskandar Ismail, who served as the nation's king for five years, has died aged 77, state media reported on January 23, 2010. Sultan Iskandar was born in 1932 and educated in Australia and Britain before joining the state civil service.
