EL SALVADOR-BIRDS-FEATURE
A snowy egret (egretta thula) takes flight in the Suchitlan Lake, in Azacualpa, 93 km north of San Salvador, on February 6, 2010. The Suchitlan Lake, formed after the construction of the Cerron Grande reservoir in 1976, is one of the largest refuges for resident and migratory birds in Central America. The Suchitlan Lake was declared Ramsar site - Wetland of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention - in 2005. AFP PHOTO/Jose CABEZAS
