This NASA TV video grab shows the Atlas V rocket as it takes off on February 11, 2010. An Atlas V rocket carrying a US solar observatory blasted off into space Thursday from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The two-stage rocket roared off its launch pad at 10:23 am (1523 GMT) under partially cloudy skies, after missing its first launch opportunity Wednesday due to high winds.The rocket was carrying NASA's Solar Dynamic Observatory, a 3.2-tonne satellite that give scientists the most detailed look ever at the surface of our sun and its complicated workings.
