INDONESIA-QUAKE
A personnel of Indonesia's Meterological and Geophysics Bureau (BMG) in Denpasar shows the electronic records of the moderate earthquake that hit Bali and nearby Java island on February 12, 2010 at 18:43 GMT on Februray 11. The US Geological Survey said the quake struck 217 kilometres (134 miles) south of Jember at a depth of 53 kilometres (33 miles) with a 5.7-magnitude. Local authorities said there were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning was issued. Indonesia sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where the meeting of continental plates causes high volcanic and seismic activity.
