INDIA-RELIGION-HINDUISM-KUMBH
Indian Naga Sadhus - Holy Men - bathe at Har-ki-Pauri in the River Ganges in Haridwar on February 12, 2010, during the First Shahi Snan - Royal Bath - on Maha Shivratri at the Kumbh Mela. Billed as one of the largest Hindu spiritual events in the world, the gathering is a meeting place for the 'Naga Baba' order, famous for their lack of clothing, coating their bodies in a layer of ash and braiding their hair. Pilgrims believe bathing in the Ganges washes away sins, liberating them from a continuous cycle of birth and reincarnation. AFP PHOTO/RAVEENDRAN
