AUSTRALIA-NZEALAND-JAPAN-WHALING
An undated handout obtained from the conservation society Sea Shepherd on February 15, 2010, shows New Zealand's Pete Bethune, captain of the futuristic "Ady Gil" powerboat which was smashed in two on January 6, 2010 after a collision with a Japanese whaling security ship, at sea in the Southern Ocean. The anti-whaling activist boarded a Japanese security ship to make a citizen's arrest of its captain over last month's sinking of the high-tech boat the Ady Gil, an animal rights group said on February 15, 2010. New Zealand's Pete Bethune, captain of the futuristic Ady Gil powerboat which was smashed in two on January 6, 2010 jumped aboard the Japanese ship from a jetski under the cover of darkness, the Sea Shepherd group said.
