AFGHANISTAN-US-UNREST
US marines with 1/3 marine Charlie Company take cover during a patrol in the farmland area of Trikh Nawar on the North East of Marjah on February 16, 2010. Thousands of US-led troops fighting to capture a key Taliban bastion in Afghanistan risked becoming bogged down, running into pockets of resistance and scores of buried bombs. The assault on the militant stronghold is the first major test of US President Barack Obama's strategy to crush an eight-year insurgency and one of the biggest since the 2001 US-led invasion brought down the Taliban regime.
