Lars Olofsson, CEO of French supermarket giant Carrefour poses prior a press conference to present the results of 2009, on February 19, 2010 in Paris. Carrefour said its 2009 net profit tumbled 74.2 percent, hit by huge restructuring charges, but its targets for the year were still met. It said net profit came to 327 million euros (505 million dollars) after charges totalling 1.07 billion euros, mainly stemming from the Italian business. Analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires had expected a 10 percent fall in 2009 net profit to 1.14 billion euros. In the first half of the year, Carrefour reported a net loss of 58 million euros.
