CHINA-US-SPACE-FILES
TO GO WITH China-US-space,FOCUS by Francois Bougon
(FILES) This file photo taken on September 20, 2008 shows Chinese tourists gathering to watch the Shenzhou-7 manned spaceship on top of the Long-March II-F rocket being transfered to the launchpad at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gansu province. A US decision to ditch plans to return to the moon is a symbolic victory for China's pragmatic and thrifty space programme, as the Asian giant's technical prowess continues to strengthen, experts say. China has adopted a pragmatic approach for the human spaceflight programme it launched in 1992, sending its first man into space over 10 years later in 2003 -- the third nation to do so after the United States and Russia.
