Ban Ki-moon arrived in Chile to assess damage from a devastating earthquake and tsunami and discuss humanitarian relief efforts. The secretary general was to meet with President Michelle Bachelet and president-elect Sebastian Pinera, then travel to Concepcion, near the epicenter of the quake that killed more than 800 people.
