FRANCE-POLAND-COMMEMORATION-WOMEN-LUXEMBURG
A plaque in memory of Polish theoretician and political activist Rosa Luxemburg is unveiled, on March 8, 2010, on the wall of the building where she lived during her exile in Paris. The plaque was inaugurated as part of intenational women's day celebrations. German socialists Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg were killed on January 15, 1919 in Berlin by German soldiers during an uprising. In 1918, the pair transformed the Spartacus League into the German Communist Party. AFP PHOTO / JOEL SAGET
