ADDING BRITAIN

Cardinal Sean Brady (R), Primate of All Ireland and Archbishop arrives to give mass and read out the 'Pastoral Letter of the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI to the Catholics of Ireland' at St.Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh, Northern Ireland, on March 20, 2010. As a priest in 1975, Cardinal Sean Brady who was at meetings where children signed vows of silence over complaints against paedophile priest Fr Brendan Smyth, said he wanted to apologise to "all those who feel I have let them down". The pope's letter expressing shame and remorse for the sexual abuse of children by priests in Ireland "falls far short" of addressing the concerns of victims, campaigners said on March 20. The One in Four group bemoaned the lack of an apology for the way victims were dismissed when they tried to complain to Church authorities, while Survivors of Child Abuse said the letter lacked "substance".
