LITHUANIA-POLAND-RUSSIA-AIR-ACCIDENT
People light candles at the Vilnius cathedral in Vilnius, on April 10, 2010 as they attend a mass to pay tribute to Polish president Lech Kaczynski and scores of other victims of the crash in the western Russian city of Smolensk. Lithuania "lost a great friend" and will declare national mourning Sunday over the death of Kaczynski in a plane crash Saturday, Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius said. Poland's central bank governor and armed forces chiefs of staff were also among the 97 people killed when the ageing Soviet-era Tupolev jet crashed in thick fog while trying to land in the western Russian city of Smolensk.
