BRITAIN-ICELAND-VOLCANO-AVIATION
Empty Check-In counters for low cost carrier Easy Jet are pictured at Gatwick airport in southern England, on April 19, 2010, following the closure of the airport due to ash emitted from an Icelandic volcano. Britain is dispatching Navy ships to help bring home its nationals stranded by the closure of European airspace due to volcanic ash, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Monday. The HMS Ark Royal and HMS Ocean were made available to help thousands of Britons stranded notably in France, he said after a meeting of the government's Cobra crisis cell to discuss its response to the situation.
