BRITAIN-ICELAND-VOLCANO-AVIATION
An empty Check-In area is pictured at Liverpool's John Lennon Airport in north-west England, on April 19, 2010, following the closure of all UK airports due to ash from an Icelandic volcano. Britain is dispatching Royal Navy ships to help bring home its nationals stranded by the closure of European airspace due to volcanic ash, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Monday. The HMS Ark Royal and HMS Ocean were made available to help thousands of Britons stranded notably in France, said Brown after a meeting of the government's Cobra crisis cell to discuss its response to the situation.
