Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has rejected an offer of resignation from his economic development minister who is mired in a corruption scandal, national media reported on April 30, 2010. Claudio Scajola "continues to work, this whole affair will blow over, like with Bertolaso", Berlusconi was quoted as saying in the daily La Repubblicca, after meeting Scajola at his private residence on April 29.
