PERU-CINEMA-HOSTAGES-RESCUE
Peruvian actors reenact in a set on May 3, 2010, the intense recue moments of the military operation to rescue 71 of the 72 hostages held for 126 days, 13 years ago at Japan embassy in Lima. The diplomatic representation was taken by a commando of 14 guerrillas of the Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) on the night of December 17, 1996 during a reception with 700 guests, including diplomats, politicians and Peruvian Foreign Minister among others. The TV serial of 25 episodes and an eventual movie are based on Peru's internal war on a crude act of political violence that paralyzed the country and attracted worldwide attention.
