BANGLADESH-CYCLONE-AILA
A Bangladeshi fisherman catches fish in a river in Gabura, the southern part of Bangladesh on May 13, 2010. Cyclone Aila slammed into southern Bangladesh on May 26, 2009 and while the initial deathtoll was low, less than 300 people were killed , compared to 4000 by cyclone Sidr in 2007 ?a huge tidal surge destroyed the network of rivers embankments . A year later the embankments have not been rebuilt, condemning 200,000 people to live in limbo as the land is submerged and too salty for planting crops. AFP PHOTO/Munir uz ZAMAN
