NORWAY-AWARDS-ABEL-TORRENCE
American mathematician John Torrence Tate of the University of Texas displays his award as he receives the Abel Prize by King Harald (unseen) of Norway in Oslo on May 25, 2010. The Abel Prize carries a cash award of NOK 6,000,000 (close to ? 730,000 or US$ 1 mill.) is awarded by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.
