TO GO WITH INDONESIE-SOCIAL-ENVIRONMENT BY JEROME RIVET
Photo taken on February 15, 2010 shows Indonesian garbage picker Agus Maulana carrying salvaged plastic package of detergents at the Xs workshop in Jakarta to be made into bags, wallets, school kits and even guitar covers. Project Xs foundation was launched by American recycling artist Ann Wizer in 2000 whose goal is to integrate the environment, social and design. Through the foundation scavengers sought in garbage dumps flexible plastic packaging for detergents or toothpaste that are impossible to sell because its not recyclable and turn them into fashionable products that are sold in boutiques in Europe, US and Singapore.
