Youth weild machettes and stones as they demonstrate May 27, 2010 at Fomboni, the capital of the Comoran island of Moheli that is strongly opposing Comoros President Ahmed Abdalla Sambi's term extension. Sambi, whose mandate was supposed to end at midnight on May 26, appointed a new government on the eve of his original scheduled departure from office. Youths on the island of Moheli erected barricades made of rocks, scrap metal and trash on the main street and then pelted security forces who tried to remove the barriers with stones, an AFP correspondent reported.
