Spanish Agriculture Minister Elena Espinosa (L) and EU commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Romanian Dacian Ciolos (R) give a press conference after a Informal Meeting of EU Agriculture Ministers on June 1, 2010 in Merida. The Informal Meeting of Agriculture Ministers was devoted to reflect on the future of the CAP reform and the challenges that lie ahead: anticipating the rise in population which will make it necessary to double world agricultural output between now and 2050; preserving the environment and biodiversity and combating climate change, at the same time as continuing to contribute to economic growth and job creation in the European Union.
