FRANCE-US-JUSTICE-VIVENDI-TRIAL
French lawyer of Didier Cornardeau, civil plaintiff and president of APPAC (a group representing small shareholders), Frederik Karel-Canoy answers to journalists at a Paris courthouse on June 2, 2010 in Paris, prior to the opening of the trial of seven former Vivendi SA executives. Universal ex-Chief Executive Officer Jean-Marie Messier faces charges of market manipulation, distributing false information and misuse of corporate funds, while Lawyer of Warner Music Group Corporation Chief Executive Officer Edgar Bronfman Jr, who joined Vivendi as vice chairman when it acquired Seagram Co. in 2000, is accused of insider trading.
