A police officer removes items from the home of gunman Derrick Bird, in Rowrah, Cumbria, in north-west England on June 3, 2010. Bird, described by friends and colleagues as an ordinary man who enjoyed a night with friends at the pub, shot three of his fellow taxi drivers at the Duke Street taxi rank in Whitehaven.
