SWEDEN-PILOT-STRIKE
Passenger queue to reschedule their flights at Arlanda airport outside Stockholm on June 16, 2010. 2,000 members of The Swedish Airline Pilots Association went on strike Wednesday due to a conflict centred on moves by a regional carrier, Avia Airlines, to fire its 80 pilots and instead hire freelance pilots on temporary contracts. Most of the cancellations affected domestic flights, but also many international flights operated by carriers including Scandinavian airlines and Norwegian Air.
