FRANCE-PEOPLE-DEATH-BIGEARD
(FILES) A picture taken on February 4, 1975 in Paris at the Elysee Palace shows French General Bigeard at the end of his first council of ministers. Born in 1916, General Bigeard died on June 18, 2010 in Toul, eastern France. Bigeard is considered as one of the most decorated soldiers in France who fought in World War II, Indochina, and Algeria. After resigning from the army in 1976, Bigeard entered politics becoming a deputy for the region Meurthe-et-Moselle, and served as a minister in the government of Valery Giscard d''Estaing. AFP PHOTO
